# Don't waste your time buying the $300 - $500 computers that you find on sale in super stores. A little bit of effort will get you much more for your money and will last a lot longer.
I do build them.
It is a good idea to build one that is upgradable:
Motherboard:
Power Supply, no less then 500 watt:
Ram, no less then 1gb:
Many other things to plan: Can you upgrade the CPU? AMD, or Intel?
What kind of case?
Video Card?
Motherboard. Choose one that is upgradable:
Make Sure It Surports:
- Dual Core CPU
- DDR2 Ram. [double-data-rate two synchronous dynamic random access memory] (DDR2 SDRAM) 240 Pin. (DDR3 well be out 2010)
- PCI Express 16X Video Two (Dual) Slots.
- [AGP video cards are on there way out.]
- SATA Hard Drive.
